I have camped at st. Joseph peninsula state park for years, loved all the old homes, then after the hurricane and a channel being cut through.
Went back last year.
All new condos, not a single original house left standing , channel cut repaired.
Huge marina gone.
100% different vibe, unless you saw before, you would be shocked,
Even Apalacholia is not the same and many businesses never recovered.

It will take years and years to rebuild and that is a lot of construction noise and traffic, the landscape will take 15 years to be looking good after its planted.

I would buy a place in San Diego to enjoy, if I was going to stay in Calif.
