I think if you mainstream.some kids need a one on one aide.
Then that is not mainstreaming them. If they need one on one they need special ed and should be in a special class room where they can get it.
That is the problem with mainstreaming. Mainstreaming means just that, mainstreaming. The reason all the other kids are mainstreamed is because they don’t need one on one.
Some parents even put their special needs kids in mainstreaming thinking it will get them “better” education when in fact it won’t be better for the child it will be worse. In special education the child would have “one on one” and that is what the child needs.
If people start that with mainstreaming then all they will do is eliminate mainstreaming and have nothing but special ed for everyone.
Often 2 on one and it is all on paper but not executed in reality.
They are difficult jobs and hard to fill.
