Can’t hurt to be prepared. In California I’d build the house to be fireproof in the first place. The Government has just proved they are not up to the job.

Well, I also wouldn’t build on a hill in the middle of a semiarid region with lots of brush about - fires love moving uphill.

I live near San Antonio - I see all the big houses on tops of the hills to the north and northwest of town and think: you better have a plan.

in the video I saw, he had a swimming pool full of water. all he needed was a small gas powered pump and hose. all that money and no water pump?

I talked to a home owner whose house survived a forest fire in NM. he had a pond and pump. he stayed and fought the fire and won!
