Have you ever read Joseph Heller’s God Knows?

No. But I understand its a story about King David told from David’s point of view (as an old man) with an American Jewish sensibility. Heller uses it as platform to comment on all things historical.

King David despite all his flaws is generally thought of as a “man after God’s own heart.” His poetry is timeless.

When I was a teenager I read Heller’scatch-22 and thought it was funny.

I don’t think I read any of his subsequent books.
