I would guess it would have been Oregon, Georgia, Notre Dame and Texas under the previous system.

The bigwigs at NCAA and ESPN who have engineered this abomination of a post-season must have sighed in relief when Georgia lost. The prospect of a Georgia - UT Championship game where UT actually wins would be embarrassing.

Georgia beats UT two out of three teams and somehow UT is the Champion? Nightmare for the monied interests.

See #12.

Two missed targeting calls.

We need a Sugar Bowl “do-over”!

After the terrorist attack and Kirby Smart’s father falling, UGA didn’t have a chance.

By the way, Sonny Smart passed away this morning after complications from the fall and the surgery.

Re: "Texas did not humiliate ASU. Not by a damn sight."

Re: "Double OT not humiliating. Big 12 fan here."

Texas was leading 24-8 with 7 minutes left in the 4th Quarter.

Texas got lazy - and, almost gave the game away.

Yes they would have. Fifteen Yard penalty and a 1st down on the Texas 37, with over a minute remaining in the game.

How do you not make this call?

Exactly- in fact if it wasn’t for a bad non call, (obvious helmet to helmet targeting the officials did not call) ASU may have beaten Texas.

I'm a Penn State fan, so I have no dog in this fight, but I watched that game and it is impossible for me to believe that, on review, that was not called.

I can't predict the outcome of that game, but that should have been a 15 yard penalty, an ASU first down and probably a game changer.

Texas got a KC Chiefs ref's call.

My opinion also. I predict OSU wins.

Tired of seeing these same teams repeatedly. Tired of players opting out. Tire of team records being meaningless going into post-season. Amen! If I were in charge, here's what I would do:
  1. Get rid of the playoffs and go back to the bowl system.

  2. No games before Labor Day or after New Years Day.

  3. Get rid of the Two-Minute Warning, which lengthens games and gives advertisers a chance to air another raft of ads.

  4. Get rid of transcontinental conferences and go back to regional conferences.

  5. No weekday games. They interfere with the school's educational mission.

  6. Get rid of the transfer portal.

**Tired of players opting out.**

I look at players who will play on Sundays. Can’t anymore. Can’t say that I blame them. The NCAA is a plantation.

Re: "How do you not make this call?"

Re: "obvious helmet to helmet targeting"

I disagree.

Face to face contact is not Targeting.

The receiver twirled directly into the face of the defensive back, who was in the process of making a completely legal tackle.

Ohio State can’t beat Michigan. They need to find a coach that can.

“How do you not make this call?”

Because, it’s the University of Texas Longhorns we’re talking about here. And let there be no doubt: the Texas Swagger, that larger-than-life bravado, commands respect.

This respect, mind you, is not merely asked for—it has been earned, forged in the crucible of competition and cold, hard cash.

The Longhorns, with their athletic program hauling in a staggering $280 million in revenue, stand tall and proud. Compare that to Arizona State, limping along with a meager $115 million. That, folks, is the difference between the majors and the minors.

And why wouldn’t the American people, lovers of spectacle and champions of greatness, rally behind the Longhorns? It’s not just football—it’s destiny. It’s the divine right of Texas to march forward into the playoffs, horns held high.

This is America! The land of unparalleled might, liberty ringing from sea to shining sea. We’ve got the Dallas Cowboys, Wayne Newton, and, yes, the Mighty Texas Longhorns—embodying the indomitable spirit of this great nation!

Well, the nice thing about the Oregon Quackers getting destroyed, humiliated, and embarrassed is that their fans can still display the Zero for the fact that they have won zero national championships.
