Law Professor Nails Why Judge Merchan Is Sentencing Trump on January 10

President-elect Donald J. Trump will be sentenced on January 10, but there will be no jail time, not that was ever a concern. The laws and statutes got so contorted that even CNN’s Elie Honig, the network's chief legal analyst and former assistant US attorney, couldn’t defend it, aptly calling it a total disaster of a case. In essence, Trump only got convicted because Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and his team perverted the rule of law.

Wasn’t George Washington convicted by the English?

And Trump was convicted by people who speak English.

Coincidence?

…”perverted the rule of law…”

Hmmmm someone constitutional rights violated? Sounds like a federal crime. Lessee, who’ll be running the executive branch for the next four years…?

I don’t understand why Jonathan Turley wasn’t selected for a cabinet position...Maybe not too late? I doubt if he’d accept...the law is a dirty proposition but politics is even more so!

The whole dam works were convicted!
Response to the olive branch petition.

The crown simply said they were all guilty if they persisted. AND, they were sentenced.

Which leads us to our second award winner as one of the two stupidest people of 2025: Judge Juan Merchan. In contravention of all logic—not to mention potentially damaging our incoming President on the world stage—Marchan announced that he will sentence President-elect Donald Trump for “convictions” in his so-called hush money trial…the result of legalistic pretzel logic created by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

I would take exception to the last part of the sentence here (underlined). Alvin Bragg is too stupid to create a legalistic pretzel logic. That was done by Attorney General Merrick Garland's DOJ loaner hit man lawyer? Matthew Colangelo.

That’s not all that will happen. Raskin will say that Trump being a felon, they don’t certify him to be President.

I disagree. When conservatives band together the left gets scared to death. Remember Chik-Fil-A. Remember the TEA party.

Notice how every time you hear Bragg in the news lately, it has to deal with Anti-american POS. (Alvin Bragg, Attempted Assassin went to Ft Bragg 100 times, NO Driver was from Bragg, LV driver was from Bragg).

All of our forefathers in the creation of this country were considered FELONS by the British. Maybe Trump is in good company and while fighting to get this reversed on appeal maybe he should say he is in good company with our founding fathers.

Embrace it and make the dems look like the fools they are and were in trying to attempt lawfare on Trump.

That’s not a bad point. Trump should compare himself to the Founders. Not bad.

Nope. Rather ignorant.

He was but a tool. A useful idiot. All the players - the lot of them ‘crooks’...including their leader(s), domestic enemies all - remain in play.

Anyone recoiling at such a statement would be wise to recall his first term PLUS the ensuing 4 years.

And he ain’t POTUS...yet.

The first 3 presidents were British subjects and by virtue of signing the DOI they committed treason against the Crown, a felony punishable by death.
The Trump “felony” was contrived and a total fiction.

George Washington was a foul traitor against the King ... right up until he (and the Frogs) kicked Cornwallis's bloody arse at Yorktown.
