I don’t know how to take “found together with items used in warfare.” If these were men’s/warrior’s graves, weapons would be expected. A spoon attached to a belt is probably not something that had any particular importance, except as an indication that maybe they weren’t sure if the gods had saltshakers in Valhalla (or whatever the Roman era equivalent might have been). What else was in the typical mix of grave goods? Salt itself might have been too valuable to bury.
