defective fuel pump could cause a loss of power, raising the risk of a crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Tuesday.
"Biodiesel deposits may form on the pump drivetrain roller components, which could lead to failure of the high pressure fuel pump," the NHTSA stated.
Drivers whose vehicles are affected by the faulty fuel pump may experience "extended crank while starting, a Check Engine Light (CEL), noise and reduced engine power," recall documents show.
The recall applies to the following truck models:
2020-2022 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600 2021-2022 Ford F-650, F-750

Good thing I have the 150. I am free and clear. Gulp.
Hmm - recall — have law that you cannot rent vehicle until pump is replaced — have no pumps on shelf to manage recall — backdoor to stopping terrorists !! Today, anything is possible.
I searched for and bought a low-mileage, used 2019 F-150 as well as an RV trailer in 2022 because I wanted something that was built pre-COVID and pre-supply chain problems. It’s going to be a while before I’m in the market for something else again.
Every now and then I slip one past the prudish old ladies that actually run this place.
I have a 2019 with the 5.7L. I don't expect that I will ever purchase another truck in my lifetime. Not even another Toyota. Not anything built after the start of of the lockdowns. I don't trust anything that was built during or after the scamdemic.
Some wise person (I forget who) recently remarked that the auto industry went south the moment they took the decision-making power away from the engineers and gave it to the accountants.

True in every industry. Boeing would be Exhibit A.
BTTT
It’s called the Purchasing Dept. at the OEM.
Engineers at the OEM spec what something needs to do...suppliers come back with solutions, engineering plus tooling and BOM cost, where each is then subjected to purchasing folks, whom hammer them all on cost.
The result is pushing too far, corners get cut and quality drops, even if the selected supplier wasn’t the lowest bid.
Outside that, everyone is trying to innovate, leading to nothing being static and only maturing in design over years and years.
The thing with this one - it doesn’t cause ‘unintended ACCELERATION’ but only a ‘loss of power’. Is that really recall worthy? When did we decide that vehicle failures that relate to any sort of engine failure is a recall?
On a related note, awhile back I was dreaming about maybe buying an RV (the feeling has since passed).
Most RV reviewers said exactly what you said. Rule #1: Avoid anything built after the start of the pandemic. The quality fell right off the cliff.
Ah-HAH:
Ford went cheap (low bidder).
Deserved stock drop.
The next shareholders meeting should be a bloodbath for the board given all the lousy decisions.
But we all know that it won’t be.
Not always rain...
Regardless the source, they went cheap.
Any failed fuel pump, always buy the pricier one (dealer preferred). Price is nearly always the tell, especially in the aftermarket.
Trust me. Anything else gets you broken down on the road in 1-2 years again and rinse/repeat (there go the ‘savings’).
Yuppers...
Mine served well escaping California and it’s Great for exploring Arizona now. I’d like to downsize but haven’t really seen Anything that Rings all the bells as far as being a Better piece of equipment.
So many Rigs out here it’s like a Candy Store for RV’s!
I got my F250 off the Lot New and it’s got just 45K miles, good Truck.
It wasn't just vehicles. Tools, appliances, even clothing... everything is somehow of cheaper quality. I'm sure Bidenflation has a lot to do with it, too.
My 94 explorer always had an “extended crank”.....
so did my 94 Ranger for that matter, come to think of it.
“It wasn’t just vehicles. Tools, appliances, even clothing”
What I saw a drastic drop off in during and after covid was customer service of all kinds.....ESPECIALLY in food service.
Yes, but Ford can brag its email systems are 100% preferred pronoun compliant, there are tampons in all bathrooms, health insurance plans all include gender reassignment procedures, and breast pumping rooms are available to all birthing persons.
Same. I hate to say it, but America's success has made us soft. And after WWII larger percentages of the kids of each successive generation have grown fatter and softer.
The return of Hard Times: Dead ahead.
