Federal investigators believe a US Army veteran who drove a truck into a crowd of New Year's revelers in New Orleans' French Quarter prepared the IED explosives at a nearby rental property.
Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, a US citizen born and raised in Texas drove an electric vehicle from Houston to Louisiana to carry out the deadly attack which killed 15 and left at least 35 injured.
Investigators are probing the theory he rented a nearby property on Airbnb in St. Roch for his base before carrying out the attack.
Exclusive DailyMail.com photographs show the moment the FBI removed bomb making materials from the two-bedroom and two-bathroom property close to the French Quarter.
A total containment vessel was seen being taken away from the property at around 8pm on New Years Day, hours after authorities had evacuated residents from the area.
The area is mostly rentals available to tourists travelling to the area for the holiday period, who have now been left without a place to stay.
Authorities told one couple ‘not to count’ on being allowed back into the properties, blocking off a three-street radius.

In the FBI’s original printed statement, he was called and “individual” and a “subject”. Not a Muslim.

There was some mention of the Superbowl in regards to the barriers that are used to prevent automobiles from driving in the French Quarter. Folks were questioning how the white truck got past the barriers and the answer was the barriers were down for 'repair' ahead of the Superbowl.

They could assign teams of three agents to accompany each AirBnB renter from the cordoned off area, one address at a time, to retrieve their personal belongings, at a cost of having the Feds do a wanding and bomb sniffing of their rental and their vehicle. Triage anyone elderly, those who need their medications or people with babies/toddlers.
I realize it's probably an AutoFill error, but "well-old" is pretty clost to how we pronounce "well-oiled" in the South!

Insightful. Just like we need to create laws to protect 'good samaritans' we also need to create new laws to protect police officers. Lawyers and the deep state have don't their best to cripple law enforcement... to the determent of citizens. (which doesn't mean the FBI is off the hook - they need to be cleaned up and reorganized). Trump has so much stuff to do when he takes office.
yep. The “Islam is a religion of peace” line will rank up there with “peace in our time” in the history books.
