Don't listen to Legacy Media - they are spewing Chinese Communist Party Talking Points to cover up what's going on—Colonel (Retired) John Mills
South Korea is one of our closest Allies, Treaty Partners, and Economic friends. There is a strong and historic relationship between the U.S. and South Korea.
Well they are in the fight of their lives as they attempt to beat down a Communist coup.
The Democratic Party Leader in the National Assembly is Lee Jae-myung - he was just convicted of Election Fraud on November 15, 2024. This is rarely reported in Legacy Media.
Lee has the following disposition:
• Left Leaning, Pro-China
• Calls the U.S. an “Occupation Force” and the Communists are “Liberators” (Those are fighting words in South Korea)
• Wants the American THAAD Missiles Out (a key CCP objective)
• Stokes Anti-Japanese hatred (yes there are hard, unresolved feelings from WWII, but the just-impeached President was trying to build strong relationships with Japan because Yoon saw that the mortal threat is China)
• Controls about 192 of the 300 seats in the National AssemblyPresident Yoon Suk Yeol (a Conservative Populist of the People’s Power Party), declared Martial Law on December 3/4, 2024. Martial law has a bad history in South Korea and is disliked. However, President Yoon did this legally - he has the authority - to raid the National Election Commission to seize more evidence of Chinese Election fraud and interference in collusion with Lee. This is rarely reported in Legacy Media.
On December 14, Yoon was impeached and removed. On December 27, his replacement Han Duck-soo was also impeached. Now the Democratic Party is trying to impeach the next Acting President Choi Sang-mok.
The Democratic Party is also trying to arrest Yoon at the Presidential Residence in Hannam. The problem is, he is being charged with inciting an “Insurrection” (sound familiar?) and the police body called the Corruption Investigation Office (CIO) working for the Democrats have no jurisdiction in regards to an “Insurrection”.
100s of thousands of South Koreans rallied to “Stop the Steal” and “Save South Korea”. The CIO Police were blocked by Citizens and the Presidential Security Force from seizing Yoon.
South Korea hangs in the balance. Many of the "Pro-Impeachment” crowd are actually Chinese who have been flown in. The East Asia Research Center is one of the best unbiased sources of what’s really going on in South Korea. ( https://eastasiaresearch.org/2024/12/23/anti-impeachment-save-korea-rallies-overwhelm-pro-impeachment-rallies-in-seoul/ )
If Lee is able to topple the Presidency and take over - this will be a huge loss for the People of South Korea and America and a big win for the CCP. US Troops may be asked to leave. Why didn’t the US Ambassador and the Commander of US Forces not know about any of this? Well, likely they were not trusted and looked at as agents of the US Deep State that would topple South Korea just like they did to Bolsonaro in Brazil.
Thank you for posting this explanation of what’s happening in S.K.
The attempted coup in South Korea by China is indeed a hugely important geopolitical event.
I wonder what President Trump can do about it.
Guess we’ll find out.
And, BTW, is there anything the U.S. can (or should)do about the similar leftist coup in Brazil, the “B” in BRIC?
Thank you.
I hadn’t heard a thing about it.

Saw this comment in the Live Chat during Trump’s December 16th press conference. While the Korean text jumped out from the rest of the comments, I thought it was fairly innocuous. Your post made me wonder if there is anything to be gleaned from it.

President Trump, congratulations on your election. I sincerely ask you to protect a free Republic of Korea so that we can go to church and worship forever until Jesus returns. Most people living in a free Republic of Korea hate communists, China, North Korea, and the Soviet Union. We will live together with the Republic of Korea forever and ever. I want you to stay. President Yoon Seok-yeol, please protect me. Please help me. I earnestly ask you to do so.
