Just got word today that my SSA application has been approved and my checks will start arriving in my bank account on February 12.

Relax there cowboy. Congrats on starting your SSA bennies. But note this: Your SSA income goes on line 6a on your 1040. Nothing passes to line 6b, the taxable amount, until you’ve received every dime you’ve paid in. If you’re anywhere near being a MAX SSA guy it will take some years for you to get to a taxable amount.
At the least you’ll have some time to write to Trump to help get the exemption in place. Also note that with Trump’s already in place 30K or so, standard deduction, you may never get into a tax bracket.
Try not to spend it in one place, likker and wimmen excluded.
