What the SCOTUS Actually Ruled (from a Pede)

IMHO From what I can gather, SCOTUS simply ruled there was no need for intervention at this time and the normal course of appeals is adequate for DJT to follow.
They were not ruling on an appeal of the verdict in the case but whether the sentencing should be delayed.
They based the conclusion of not needing to get involved at this point on the fact that Merchan has indicated that he is going to sentence to unconditional discharge and the burden on the President-Elect is minor, given that allowance of a virtual appearance.
Had there been any requirement for appearance in person, or possibility of any detainment, SCOTUS would have had to intervene.
This ruling in no way affects DJT’s appeal of the case. That appeal will move forward and most experts expect the verdict to be reversed.
