The Battle is brief and all combatants in the Alamo are killed or executed. Mexican forces suffer many killed to subdue the Alamo..Col.Travis is killed early in the initial assault..

The defenders fall back in concentric rings but cannot repel the overwhelming force..When the dust settled 183 defenders are dead..Only a few women children and a slave are spared.

The chant “Remember the Alamo” will spread through Texas and Houston will try to regroup and build a citizen army..The road to Texas Independence continues. ☆

I was into ballet - in a big way - we had our idols… the older ones and contemporary ones. I’ve not kept up with the art for decades but have many fond memories

It is a strict difficult discipline-complete with recollections of toes bleeding through toe shoes, the exerting regime, the perfect bodies, the beautiful costumes and performances

Speaking of snow, my summer job-location is usually pounded first by any storms that subsequently influences the currently and notably dry desert southwest, that I am presently calling home. Two years ago the desert bloom was stupendous. More rain fell over the winter than had ever been historically recorded in AZ’s weather registries.

I especially like visiting Noah’s Nightly News later in the evening, as the content often reinforces relevant articles that I’ve encountered earlier in the day at Kane’s- Citizens Free Press.

I found this really quirky article at NNN that was about a woman church choir director that was playing a piano, and was accompanied by a single adult male lay person singing a combination of a church hymnal and a modern top 40 song from that time period, and the two songs were blended together to form the odd product.

The top 40 song’s name escapes me at the moment, but the man singing, did not know the hymnal (word for word) very well, and he knew even fewer words to the top 40 song. He did have stage presence and kept his cool by slipping in bits and pieces of verbal sounds/phonetics, mostly humming to keep the production moving along to the finish.

His facial expressions are at the core of what makes the whole show, as he basically fakes his way through the number, and his face gives it away! He knows that you (the viewer) know, that he doesn’t know... the words, but he does know that the show must go on and a good effort is required just the same.

Mind you, this was a weekly live broadcast going out to the community. No second takes. It was found by who knows who and went viral.

Noah had the link at the bottom of his page in one of his past additions. What made it all the more interesting to me, is that the location of the church stage-recording location was at a church in a town near my birthplace in Illinois (30 miles) and struck me in a fond way as I knew the area quite well.

I’ll see if I can find the performance later today, and post it here if successful.
