Although, for the record, I have had decent discussions with you before. I feel you might continue to be a good forum participant.

I just noticed that you seemed to reject the concept of increased civility on Free Republic, and that was odd, coming from you. Perhaps I didn't understand your point.

Over a 30 year IT career I have faced job discrimination, lost opportunities and depressed wages. This is personal to me and millions of other Americans in the IT field and we will not be shouted down and be told to shut up by anyone. I dare you to talk to anyone you know working in an IT field and then get back to me.

I *ALSO* work in the IT world, and am surrounded by H1B's. I am in continuous jeopardy from being replaced at any point by one of them. In fact, the only way I am surviving is by being a good manager of people, and by constant innovation. I've made a major mark for myself, for example, by instructing over 200 people throughout the company on how to leverage our inhouse AI. I'm being mentioned at the Director- and Senior VP-level.

So, to summarize: Yes, I share your concern and am faced with the same problem. However, I do not take my angst out on fellow Freepers. I suggest you consider doing likewise.

Good analogy. And here’s the kicker, they keep telling us the main goal is deporting the illegals who just flooded in and that it’s a massive job.
A complete halt to the H1B program would free up all those Immigration Service employees to help with the deportations.

I appreciate you clarifying your motive. However, please understand that such implied messaging won't make me any more concerned about H1B abuse. It is already strongly on my radar.

I feel we have other issues to deal with first, but yes, this issue is real, it can effect me directly, and needs to be addressed.

Not the precise topic of this thread, though. The topic of this thread is the behavior we exhibit while participating in Free Republic.
