Lavrov made a fair assessment of the political situation in regards to American foreign policy on the war being somewhat ambiguous due to the election.
President Trump is going to end Putin’s botched invasion. Lavrov needs to tell his boss to get with the program.
What l see is a negotiation playing out. Trump has not even taken office yet and this thing is coming to an end.
The problem is that the Kellogg side and the entire effort is that WE are the ones begging for a cease fire. That’s a weak position.
We are offering nothing but a cessation of shooting so we can flood Ukraine with weapons and NATO soldiers, giving Ukraine a defense pact (defacto NATO), and starting a timeline for bringing Ukraine into NATO.
In return we offer nothing. No end of sanctions, no repair of Nordstream, no full release of the stolen money and gold we confiscated, no reopening of normal diplomatic relations, no recognition of Crimea and Donbass as Russian, no repudiation of resurgent nazism in Ukraine.
Basically, the Kellogg plan is something WE need, not them. We get all our goals met, they get nothing.
Of course they have no reason to accept that.
Whoever comes after Zelenski will be even worse.
