And that's the main reason why I limit my Sasquatch searches to summer months only.

It made it look like an accident, so nobody would look for it.

Everyone knows Bigfoot hibernates for the winter. And they don’t like being disturbed.

These were local guys, they knew the weather conditions, why would they venture out with out adequate gear.

It’s not just the cold in the Pacific Northwest that’s a danger; it’s the months of on-and-off rain during the winter, and the lack of sunlight. Try lighting a campfire at night when all the wood is completely soaked.

The sort of person who goes out hunting bigfoot could be expected to not think everything through.

I stick to snipes. A Sasquatch can be dangerous if you catch one. Snipes don’t present that problem.

Was alcohol involved? Because this sure sounds like “Let’s go now so we can find their footprints in the snow!”

The pair's ill-fated trip began on Christmas Eve when they set out to search for Sasquatch...
... the pair's lack of preparation for the extreme weather may have led to their deaths. So, if this is accurate they left some time after ~5pm and they didn't take any equipment with them. I'm going to speculate they set out around 8 pm. Even if it was earlier, what could they possibly have been doing at a "holiday outing" that would have let to such actions?
But after the men failed to return to their holiday outing, a family member alerted authorities to their disappearance at around 1 am on Christmas Day.
So these two, with no gear, head into the woods to find bigfoot on Christmas eve and then "failed to return to their holiday outing" and were reported missing after (let's say) six hours.
Some editing may be in order here: ... the pair's lack of preparation for the extreme weather intoxication level and extreme stupidity may have led to their deaths.

ROFL!
Well searching for a 10 foot tall, 500 pound ape-like monster is tough enough...add the winter elements and it gets out of control!!

The pair's ill-fated trip began
after the bar closed on Christmas Eve when they set out to search for Sasquatch, the elusive creature of folklore often said to roam the forests of the Pacific Northwest.
Just a hunch...
