The problem is that he’s wrong. The education establishment, to have as many dues paying teachers as possible so the union can fill its pockets, lowered the standards of education so that more teachers would have to be hired and it would take longer.
If you compare what kids are learning now, with what they were learning 100 years ago, the kids today are being educated to about grade 5 or so.
I agree with that assessment about grade level education ends in grammar school. Higher types of math, typing, Drivers ed and the fact that I hated school, is what I learned after 5th grade. I flunked 6th grade math, because it required to prove your work, which I felt no need to do. I could figure out batting averages of MLB players in my head. I can multiply and divide easily in my head at age 71. They switched to the “new math”, and my brain said “screw this”. They lost me, because I had faithfully learned all I could learn, and they changed the book on me. Like going from phonics to see and say. I read A tale of two cities to my mom as she cooked dinner. I was 5 years old. When she figured out what book I had, she took it away and told me it was too deep for me. We walked about 1.5 miles to the library and back every 10 days. Americans are not stupid, they have electronics, and no Mothers at home.
Both Musk and Ramaswamy are wrong. I have a son, graduated top of his class in high school and college, is an electro/mechanical engineer, interned for 2 years at NASA, and can’t even get an interview. The kid has a well rounded background, is multi-skilled and won a nationwide talent search for the one company he did find work at that went through a re-organization due to economic reasons and got laid off.
So don’t tell the talent doesn’t exist in this country. These kids are out there, U.S. companies don’t want them they want slaves.
The problem is that this is leftist clap trap assigning meaning to something that is not there. For the purpose of destroying Elon Musk and damaging the Trump administration. And there are too many people here who either fall for it or are part of that operation.
I would NOT TRADE the grade school education I had in a ONE ROOM SCHOOL FOR ANYTHING AVAILABLE TODAY.
