That version is very good too.
My choir conductor and vocal teacher always tells us — if you can hit the the high C that occurs on the word “divine” in “O night divine,” which is one of the most dramatic moments in the song — without cracking or losing your breath — and can sustain the note for 5 seconds and not sound like you’re screaming or shouting… then YOU ARE A GOOD SINGER.

Ok, this is hands down my favorite Christmas song. But I do NOT enjoy the versions of this song that “feature” someone singing it. That always puts the focus on THE person singing and not on the Lord. I think a Choir setting offers the best feeling versions. I have a version of this song done by a Baptist Choir that is superb but have been unable to find it on Youtube, but this is similar...
