Oh my, The pier is gone.
Hey folks why am I the first to post this 4 hours after the event. No trans killers huh.

Because no one here cares about Santa Cruz in CA.
Probably only 50 or so Freepers live nearby, If I had to guess.

โHe says the three people were workers inspecting the ongoing construction at the end of the pier which had been closed off to the public since January 2024. The chief says inspections didn't show any indication that the wharf was at risk of collapsing.Maybe itโs time for new inspectors!

That’s a scary event! It just wasn’t their time to go.
It’s never too early to teach your kids to swim.
I’m in the North Bay near The City.
So much fog earlier this week, I thought I could hear
“London Calling”.

I had dinner mid-wharf at Gilda’s on November 6.

“Santa Cruz Police Chief Bernie Escalante said in a news conference that two people had to be rescued by a lifeguard unit on jet skis, while the third person was able to swim to safety.”
All three rescued and they sounded like REAL WORKERS, thus likely Trump voters - so a happy outcome.

Reminds me of a Buster Keaton film where his seaside honeymoon cabin washes out to sea.

Wow!
"It's a testament to climate change?"
The California official has to say that if he wants state emergency funds.
It's insane to suggest that the mere change in weather due to the approach of a storm that collapses a pier under construction is due to climate change and not the lack of quality engineering in California.
