Oh my, The pier is gone.
Hey folks why am I the first to post this 4 hours after the event. No trans killers huh.
To: Steven Scharf
Because no one here cares about Santa Cruz in CA.
Probably only 50 or so Freepers live nearby, If I had to guess.

”He says the three people were workers inspecting the ongoing construction at the end of the pier which had been closed off to the public since January 2024. The chief says inspections didn't show any indication that the wharf was at risk of collapsing.Maybe it’s time for new inspectors!

We were there regularly when the kids were little. One of the kids later went to UCSC and I sometimes went to take pictures there. Very photographically interesting.

You can’t get good help these days.

That right there, the end of the pier, was one of my go-to places to film sealions.

That’s a scary event! It just wasn’t their time to go.
It’s never too early to teach your kids to swim.
I’m in the North Bay near The City.
So much fog earlier this week, I thought I could hear
“London Calling”.
To: lee martell
“North Bay”
Sound like Novato or Vallejo.

Close. San Rafael, just south of Novato and Ignacio.
To: Steven Scharf
I had dinner mid-wharf at Gilda’s on November 6.

“Santa Cruz Police Chief Bernie Escalante said in a news conference that two people had to be rescued by a lifeguard unit on jet skis, while the third person was able to swim to safety.”
All three rescued and they sounded like REAL WORKERS, thus likely Trump voters - so a happy outcome.

You’d be surprised, I think it’s more than that. And there are actually a fair number of conservatives lurking in the area. The radio station is conservative.
To: buwaya
Yes, but they’ve blocked off the end for months. The last couple times, you could hear the sea lions, but not see them.

Beautiful town and the mountains behind it are gloriously forested. Too bad the area is in the iron grip of hard core leftists
