Me too. White and picked cotton but only for one day helping a relative. Not a pleasant job...hot, bugs, and it will scratch your hands up good. I couldn’t imagine doing it every day. When the cotton is full and fluffy, the fields look pretty to me.

Shoplifting from the local clothing retailer could count as cotton picking.

Go figure. The lefties are triggered about cotton and oil while wearing blue jeans (made from cotton) and being delivered on a bus (diesel). Oh the horrors.

Wait until someone passes around a cigar in front of the descendants of all the krauts, pollocks, and Irish who had to pick tobacco in the river valley of Connecticut.
There will be riots in the streets.

“I can bet every damn person in that class is wearing some.”

1) My lady friend says cotton is becoming increasingly rare in undergarments.
2) A book by my 1812-era Grandfather shows he was asked when making the trip to England, for him to buy linen and cotton garments.
(Which tells me England had their hands bloodied in US slavery).

I did a top grade research project booklet about cotton when I was in elementary
school. I still remember how great it was to have successfully managed to locate and request a real, untouched cotton puffy beige cotton bunch right from the plant on which it had grown. Never did the teacher or any student dream of being “offended” by a school science report. I pity today’s teachers and students; they are programmed to be intellectual idiots and fools.

Good churches should have a line item in their budgets for subsidizing families who are home schooling. Or to subsidize tuition for families sending kids to parochial schools.
