“Denmark and the EU might have something to say about that.”

The EU doesn’t get a way. But make up a false flag in Ilulissat (Greenland) and then take it by force, as we did in Kosovo.

Denmark is part of the EU. As such, they are not sovereign. So, the EU *does* get a way.

Pristina monument to female victims
of sexual violence in Kosovo:

No "false flag" was used in Kosovo, only the truth about Serbian atrocities against non-Serbs there 1998-1999.
These included over 10,000 killed, 20,000 women raped and 1,000,000 displaced from their homes.

UN forces in Kosovo (of which about 25% were US forces) did not "take" it, they freed it.
Today, Kosovo's independence is recognized by about 60% of the world's countries, including nearly all of the EU and NATO.
Countries that do not recognize Kosovo's independence include:

  1. Serbia
  2. Russia
  3. China
  4. India
  5. Indonesia
  6. Brazil
  7. Mexico
  8. South Africa
By the way, Mexico is entirely consistent here, in that Mexico also does not recognize the Russian-declared "independence" of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Abkhazia, South Ossetia or Transnistria.
