"How’s that any different than the delivery guys trucking a gun safe in the front door after unboxing it on the front lawn?"

Drinking again?

"“This guy don’t watch tv - He watches movies and he’s Serious About It”.

Yup, the Theater exists for movies. The wife's system downstairs if for TV watching.

"Have a 70” in the living room, a pair of Klipcsh R6000 speakers, and a Sony STR-DH190 receiver. Prefer keeping things simple and the sound is excellent."

I still have my 100" projection screen on the wall. I went through a number of projectors, but I could never get the true black I wanted. Shadows were washed out as were the stars in the sky. Thinking about donating the current projector and screen to a school.

"Wife watches tv, I listen to music. The tv can be patched through the stereo when we decide to watch a movie together. There’s more but this covers the audio/visual."

Similar here. Both my Theater system and my wife's TV system are both connected to our different receivers. Her system doesn't have rear speakers, but still good sound and video.

"I’d be willing to bet 3 or 4 years down the road you’ll have an organic LED tv set in place. Those displays are incredible but still kinda pricey."

Beat you to it. My Theater LG 65" is an olead display (4k), if that's what you mean. The O stands for organic. They are coming down in price. BTW, I'm sure your Klipsch speakers are great. In another life, they were my second choice after JBL.

"You take care and “Crank It Up”."

Better yet, "Turn It Up" as Skynyrd says in Sweet Home Alabama. Nice talking with you.

That's where I bought my LG. Best Buy,Nashua...just off of Route 3. Did you know that a good portion of the parking lot at the Pheasant Lane Mall is actually in Massachusetts? Talk about straddling the line!

Trinitron seemed have a short period of popularity. (I’ve got one stored behind some old furniture).

What constitutes “late model”?

I’ve suggested for years to those who are buying gun safes and having them delivered to first secure an appliance box larger than the gun safe and have the safe trucked in the house in the appliance box (and to ensure that the delivery truck doesn’t have something akin to “Patriot Gun Supply” emblazoned on the side).

The reasoning applies to essentially labeling this videographer an idiot, because the presumption is that he used the box for his new tv to stuff in the old/broken one.

Same goes for putting your expensive electronics packaging etc. on the curbside for recycling.

If ya’ll enjoy advertising to your local ilk what you have in your house...

...have another drink. /s

But don’t whine here when you find out what your insurance WON’T cover.

The semi-funny thing is, these guys don’t watch anything on these sets. *Some* examples have nice cabinets intact and they get involved with refinishing them to make a nice piece of furniture. Some guys have a waiting room at their business and like to have an old b/w set to distract people from how long it’s taking to change their oil. Ohers have thrown 50’s parties and wanted a b/w set playing horror movies. LOL.

The guy I like, shango, has as his only goal to get the thing to make a picture as cheaply as possible. Most of the time, of course, he is limited by a weak picture tube that isn’t going paint anything but a washed-out picture no matter how well the rest of the set works. It would be possible to change out each and every part in a 1955 TV set, but that would cost an absolute bloody fortune and probably 60+ hours of work.

All these dudes have a different slant on the exercise. Some think they are building a museum, preserving the past, etc. My enjoyment is just the knowledge that I don’t have to do ANY of that work any more, and for me, that’s fun.

I am not an expert, but I think there are videos about this on YouTube.

But I think models from the end of the Trinitron's run, with multiple AV inputs, especially ones which are capable of 480p or early HD CRT models (~1995-2005) are the most desirable.

“FB is dead to me.”
.
.
Understood.

I’d kept away forever after being warned here at FR; however, it’s gotten minor adjustments so there’s less “monitoring”. The video “shorts” are much better than YouTube. I can quickly send them to “friends” and neighbors with a similar ilk.

What can you do when everybody you know is on Facebook?
