My Mother Mary Ann was an RN, a very good one. She worked for part of her career in the ER, she told me it was the best part of her career, no time to mourn or worry, just trying to save lives. She also worked part of her career in an elderly care facility, she would come home and weep sometimes. Joe died, not supposed to become attached, just doing a job, but it’s hard not to for a compassionate human being. My Mom is the reason why my daughter is a Medical Doctor today. Lot of personal stuff to write on a public forum.
Great story, kawhill. Many thanks to your mother for the work she did and for the inspiration she provided. So glad you’ve had these people in your life.
I am desperately in love with ER nurses. Every last one of them that I ever met made my life better.
