Snakes rank among Americans’ top animal phobias, and are among the most disliked animals globally. A new study from North Carolina State University finds that the dislike of snakes is subconscious and, to some extent, learned.
“Snakes are important,” said the study’s first author Audrey Vaughn, a former graduate student at NC State. “They serve as both important predators and sources of prey for other wildlife. They can also serve as important ecological indicators. This disdain that people have for them is something that impacts our ability to make sure they are well conserved. That in and of itself is a reason to better understand these attitudes and to try to figure out what can be done about them.”

Depends on where the snake is.
The executive, the legislative and the judicial branches of government.
you forgot the most venomous:Democrat prosecutor.
There’s a lot of truth to your statement. This is why most studies are just junk. And many of these studies are politically oriented and paid for by the tax payer.
To me terms like “studies”, “polls”, “fact checking” are all buzzwords for masquerading lies as the truth.
I’m sort of hoping government funding for any study is severely restricted by DOGE.
Another useless study...
Some people are afraid of clowns...
It might also be that if some snakes bite you you’d die.
Genesis 3:
14 So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. 15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
My parents had a poodle some years ago. It went batshit crazy when a snake was crawling up the side of the house. It took 3 or 4 days for the dog to forget about it.
Two things I don’t **** with: snakes and condoms.
A GREEN MOHAVE WILL CHASE YOU.
BEEN THERE-—DONE THAT
NASTY THINGS.
“Subconscious Bias Drives Negative Attitudes Toward Snakes”
NEEDS CORRECTION!!!
Rational Bias Drives Negative Attitudes Toward Snakes”
THERE FIXED IT.
So you only live dangerously half the time?
Well - I’m married so the only real danger is 18years later……then it’s the state’s problem ;)
One day a buddy and I were exploring the rocky coast line of the little island next to ours when we spotted a small boa constrictor, about 2 1/2 ft. long. When he tried to pick it up, it bit him. He freaked out, thinking it was poisonous and he was going to die....LOL!
