So they sent 17 people for a pick up order and the restaurant was expected to seat them even though they were not eating there.

I don't see a lawsuit...The word "reasonable" comes to mind. 17 people is not reasonable.

The 17 came in for sit-down meal. When they were not seated, they were allowed to place a to-go order.

Chances are that it had more to do with the size of the crowd and trying to accommodate them than anything.

That’s a LOT of people to just show up and expect a place to sit and to have enough help to serve everyone.
