Unless Assad is sitting in a Syrian prison, no Russian base will be sited in Syria.

Where are the usuals screaming propaganda, curious😎

It will be interesting to see what happens
First the loss of Syria is certainly egg on Putins face
Loss of some highly technical equipment like radars could prove useful if west can get hands on them, but more importantly, Syria was a way point to Africa and the only port Russia had in the Mediterranean

With these gone at least for now their operations in Africa are in trouble and the wealth they got from there as well.

But what may turn out to be their biggest mistake going forward is admitting Assad is in Russia. Would have been better if they had allowed the “he died in plane crash” narrative. If Russia is forced to turn over Assad to get bases back that will really be a black eye .
And if I were Assad I wouldn’t be smiling and be staying away from windows

Since Mother Russia’s cupboard is bare and she has no money to pay the rent, re occupation of the lost Syrian bases is unlikely.

Before, She ostensibly provided air defense capability and weapons in lieu of money. However since all the air defenses were shown over and over to be worthless, the new Syrian government won’t be fooled again.

The Russian naval presence in the Med is a thing of the past.

Russia has no more claim to the bases it abandoned than the US had to the bases that Biden abandoned in Afghanistan. It seems to me that some country like Saudi Arabia, or even Trump’s USA should start the bidding for them. The Art of the Deal might win.

The USA and Israel should make an offer for these Russian bases. The new Jihadist rulers need the money. And this naval base would help protect Israels natural gas rigs out in the Mediterranean.
