Like seriously, the song ends with suggestions she’ll get pneumonia and die if she doesn’t stay and engage in poor life choices with him. What guy says things like that?
Agreed. I hate the song, no matter who sings it, and “cringy” is I think a great word to describe its lyrics.

The songwriter wrote this one for he and his wife to sing together for their house guests at holiday parties - if the lyrics sound somewhat scandalous, it's because the song was intended for a group of adults who understood the lyrics to be exaggerated and a bit risque. I'm not sure how it went "public", but it's certainly not the only song that was intended for limited playing to go mainstream.
