There was a large Celtic population in the Iberian Peninsula during the late Bronze era and early Iron era (The Emerald Isle is located directly north of the Iberian Peninsula by sea.) During that same time period the Phoenicians and other eastern Mediterranean civilizations explored and settled the Iberian Peninsula.
