The quote seems to be “the chapter of the West's dominance is coming to a close.” Given the idiocy of adding a trillion in public debt every three months here, and given the idiocy of the Draghi suggestion for “harmonizing” EU member nations' debt, I'd suggest the notion is less PR and more an observation.

The chapter of Ezekiel you reference ends with "I will" suggesting, like part of the book of Job, that this will be done until such time as "they shall know that I am God / Hashem" (depending on the translation). Given a "turning away" in so many lands, "until such time" seems to be most pertinent.

Good comment! The modern West is exhibiting many symptoms of the Roman Empire in its last decades. Corruption, debasement of currency, arrogance, etc.

But of course the Roman Empire was eternal. It could not collapse. Until it did.
