The chapter of Ezekiel you reference ends with "I will" suggesting, like part of the book of Job, that this will be done until such time as "they shall know that I am God / Hashem" (depending on the translation). Given a "turning away" in so many lands, "until such time" seems to be most pertinent.

Good comment! The modern West is exhibiting many symptoms of the Roman Empire in its last decades. Corruption, debasement of currency, arrogance, etc.
But of course the Roman Empire was eternal. It could not collapse. Until it did.
