The YouTube source comes across as a click-bait channel. There are a ton of them on YouTube.

Good post on how to reuse our spent fuel. It was short, concise and accurate in the language a layman would understand. Are you an engineer?

“Imagine the odds that f finding a charger capable of charging the battery in the 15 minutes, now imagine how h odds of the charger actually being functional.”

Tesla already has it.

“How many people read this article and think “Great! I can plug it into my existing electrical system and be on my way in 15 minutes”?”

Zero

Since Harry Reid assumed room temperature a few years ago, has Yucca Mountain the Nuclear waste storage facility been re-opened?

Just a quick search seems that the answer is no. Trump & the Biden Administration both rejected using the Yucca facility. Here is Brave's AI response:

Yucca Mountain, the nuclear waste storage facility, has not been re-opened. Despite the 2013 appeals court decision re-opening the possibility of storing nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain, the project has remained stalled and contentious.

But that may not be true. It would take a far mor deeper look into the question to see if it is true, but I would assume that the answer of no is the truth.

Hope that helps. Since I was told that spent fuel cells can be reused, then perhaps that would be the better route to proceed on anyway. 🙂👍

Aluminum in ion form cannot burn same for lithium in ion form cannot burn. Every lithium battery fire you see is an electrolyte fire pure and simple. Take out the flammable liquid electrolytes and you eliminate the fire risk and the ability for fire all together. This is one of the reasons the whole iindustry is moving to solid state cells. Ceramics ,glass and nano glass cannot burn the active metal are in ion form bound to elements with much higher Gibbs energy than oxygen if not already bound to an oxide in the anode.

Aluminum foil will melt befire it burns throw some into a raging wood fire for grins it will just melt into a small pill of molten metal.

We carry flammable electrolyte cells every day your smartphone has one that if it lit off would burn half your body. Same for your tablet or laptop even bigger fire. Modern personal electronics cannot exist without the energy density of lithium ion cells.period.full.stop. The market for ghigh energy density cells is a trillion dollar market those who get to solid state cells with equal energy density to current lithium ion will be wealth not rich know the difference. The group that exceeds lithium ion with solid cells will control the planet’s energy industry for the next century.

Yes before I went pure scientist I was a ME and industrial engineer by degree. I ended up as a PE and then frac engineer in the oil industry. I went back to university and got a MS in Geology and then was sent for a second MS in Hydrogeology. I left full time work for my PhD in MS in remote sensing and GIS but stopped at a third MS there and came back to consulting part time. I lecture part time as well to stay current in academia as well as some research for the uni.

Will the battery life be acceptable or will you need a costly replacement every few years?

It will all come to cost on that point, if that’s the case.

If they can engineer a replacement where it works out to be about the same as having an ICE engine, that might not be so bad. Go to the dealership and get it popped out and in and you’re on your way.
