I am pretty sure it was the Bidens decision to fly a private charter plane into the inauguration.
(I have no desire to research old "Q" threads on this - I will if you want me to)

and the 21 gun salute issue was also reconciled.(It's really not a 21 gun salute, but a 21 shot salute)
I'm pretty sure there are usually 4 Guns.
The salute comes from 3 Guns with the 4th as a backup in case of a hang fire on one of the other guns.

What never was reconciled was why the change of venue for the gun salute - from the capitol grounds to arlington.
In Feb 2024, I had written to public affairs from:(I should have filed an FOIA - I thought identifying myself as a fellow cannon cocker would elicit a response - it didn't)

1. 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) - They are the ones who fire the cannons.
and
2. Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Military District Washington - TOG(The Old Guard) - Us Army Headquarters.

My original request:
"I was checking out the history of the Gun Salutes - funerals and otherwise.

The videos of Presidents Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump 21 gun salutes shows they were done on what looks like the Capitol grounds during\after completion of the oath of Office. (You can also hear the guns in the background)

President Biden's 21 Gun Salute, from CSPAN, is in Arlington National Cemetery.

There was no cannon sounds in the Capitol after President Biden took the Oath of Office

I realize things were kinda sideways because of COVID, plus security concerns.

Could you tell me why the change of venue for the Presidential Gun Salute ?

Why was the salute venue changed from the Capitol to Arlington ?
