Washington Commanders managing partner Josh Harris and the NFL Commanders ownership group have agreed to un-cancel the Redskins (the iconic Blackfoot chief logo) history.
In a post on Facebook by Republican Montana Sen. Steve Daines, the Congressman wrote that “The censorship of the former Commanders logo was a classic case of woke gone wrong. I applaud the Commanders & the NFL for their commitment to never censor the logo again.”

The weak link wasn't the Redskins. Dan Snyder may be been the worst owner in the history of the NFL -- I suppose he has some stiff competition, but in recent memory, yeah -- but he hung tough at least for awhile on the name. The problem was the NFL brass, which couldn't stand up to the television moneymen, and the political establishment. They were all getting stampeded by the woke hysteria, and the Redskins got completely isolated on the issue. By the end, only the team itself and the fans wanted to keep the name, and they got rolled by the woke Borg.
LOL - Yes, that was me and it was Bender2 himself who called me that. He was a staunch Cowpatties fan and we were good FRiends.
I miss Danny. He was a lot of fun.
And this stellar version of Earth Wind and Fire's "Fantasy"
When you look at the studio recordings...they look like they are having so much fun playing these tunes...
I miss him and his threads, may he RIP. That was fun.
I enjoyed all those silly graphics!
And put all of our damn Military Statues back and put our bases back to their original names.
Excellent. Now restore the name.
I shouldn’t mention this, but you’d be amazed how many people call the so-called “Commanders” after hours and play that song.
Well, it’s a profile of a Blackfeet chief, so he’s kind of a commander.
“Now let’s do the same for the Cleveland Indians.”
Definitely.
The Post ran a long article trying to discredit and explain away their own poll.
Later, they ran another poll askign Natives what adjective came to their minds when they thought of the Redskins name and logo.
The most common choice?
“Proud.”
The Post tried to explain that away too. These white liberals think they know what’s offensive to minorities better than teh minorities in question do.
An actual Blackfeet chief. The Blackfeet (and other tribes) have been very vocal about restoring the name and logo. The chief’s son is one of the loudest supporters.
The Cincinnati Reds had to change to Redlegs during the height of the Cold War. After a few years, they changed back.
Now that red has been assigned as the republican color, I wonder how long before the wokies make them change again.
Maybe they should adopt black shoes and call themselves the Blackfeet.
Hail to the Redskins
Hail victory
Braves on the warpath
Fight for old D.C.!
(Bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum)
Fight on till you have won,
Sons of Washington.
Hail to the Redskins
Hail victory
Braves on the warpath
Fight for old D.C.!
Teh Bullets brought that name from Baltimore.
I always thought such logos and team names were celebratory, not derogatory.
Actual conversation I had with a woke person:
Wokie: All blacks experience racism every day.
Me: What do you say to blacks who say they don’t?
Wokie: Well, they do.
Me: So you, as a white person, are going to whitesplain their lived experience to those black people?
Wokie: I’m not having this conversation.
DC Stadium (AKA RFK Stadium) is coming down, but the District wants to build the football team a new stadium on the same site.
