One only hopes. I would be respectfully polite, without pronouns, to someone transgender, but I do believe it’s a mental illness that should not be encouraged in the military. Our military has one purpose, and that’s to protect this country. Not to be a leading lite in social reform.

Amen. Our military and government have been enabling and encouraging these people to embrace their illness instead of seeking real help. I say real because some professionals who claim to "help" are guilty of encouraging genital mutilation (as we all know).

I do believe it’s a mental illness that should not be encouraged in the military. You're right. Should not be encouraged anywhere in society. Like you say, it's a mental illness and should be encouraged to about the same extent of cancer.
