Another team that actually could make the playoffs if they win out, is UNLV if they beat Boise State in the Mountain West Championship, depending on what happens with Tulane or Arizona State.
UNLV is currently ranked #24, Tulane is #20 and ASU is #21.
Both teams, like I said.
I was happy for every play. I know nobody gets that, except maybe my husband, but it’s true.
LOL, back in 2007 I called it “The University of Florida At Columbus”.
LOL.
My niece wanted to wear her Gator gear when she and my daughter went out with friends back then. I told her that if she liked being on the side of the living, she wouldn’t wear orange and blue in town openly. She might’ve gotten herself into a mess she wouldn’t know how to get out of. So she wore regular outfits, not fan gear. The year the Gators won, I was probably the only person in Columbus who was happy about it. Maybe there were a few Michigan fans that were happy, too.
My first thought...
Did the Penn State receiver bet against the Point Spread?
It’s the smart thing to do, if you score, you still give the other team a slight chance, if they score and get an onsides kick.
But not scoring, you give them no chance to win, because you simply run out the clock.
Quite rare, I think.
NFL Minimum 2024 salary - $795,000 - plus exceptional health insurance - plus substantial pension contribution.
Toughest crowds in college football:
The Shoe (Ohio State)
The Big House (Michigan)
The Swamp (Florida)
Beaver Stadium (Penn State)
Been to all of them. Talk about LOUD!
Thought this would be fun for people following this thread: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIkqNiBASfI
That was great! Thanks! (Passing along to my husband and brother.)
That’s a pretty good list! 2 down, 2 to go.
I wouldn’t count on A&M beating Texas.
Emotions will be high for a game that restores a long standing tradition (which never should have ended in the first place, but the Aggies wanted to get out of UT’s shadow).
The Longhorns have lots they need to improve on, but I’m not impressed by the aggies. Of course, every time I managed to watch them this year, the Aggies lost, including last night.
There is a chance the Pac 12 and Big 10 Champions could both be from Oregon.
I always want to see ND lose, no matter the opponent.
You’re right, but, in my opinion, that’s not reason enough to continue the annual farce. Please recall that, following the Staubach-led team’s win in ‘63, there followed 40 years of losses. That doesn’t meet my definition of a rivalry, or a tradition . Truth to tell, I’m a USNA grad and it has irked me no end to see the pigheaded persistence to engage in the farce as well as the phony hype.
Secure the soapbox; carry on.
Have a very happy Thanksgiving, may fam to yours.
Quite rare I’m sure. And by the way, at that beginning salary, I’d be willing to contact any team in the cellar with an offer to help keep them there for that kind of dough,.
You are right also. It is mostly hype and a farcical.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving to you and yours, also.
What does the NFL have to do with anything?
It was just how the conversation went, college football with all the changes to the NIL and Transfer Portal has made college football much more like the NFL
