It sounds like even if the baby had been alive when it was placed in the box, it still would have died because they didn’t check the box for more than a month. Great “safe haven” program they’ve got going on there.

Where did you get your “month” from? It says the baby was retrieved within one minute of being placed in the box.

Given the hypothermia or hyperthermia risks, depending on weather, they surveil the drop box.
