[It sounds like even if the baby had been alive when it was placed in the box, it still would have died because they didn’t check the box for more than a month. Great “safe haven” program they’ve got going on there.]


Given the hypothermia or hyperthermia risks, depending on weather, they surveil the drop box.

I would think there’d be an alarm at the nurse station if the outside door is opened. A newborn infant, perhaps not in the best condition, needs to be retrieved quickly.

I always figured leaving a baby at a big city church was the way to go. But, perhaps, I’m thinking of the old movie churches...they may not be open all the time now.
