Inflation and an ever decreasing USD has taken its toll.
Using the Fed Inflation calculator, $200,000 then is equivalent to $1,558,834.57 today….and that is using the Fed’s understated inflation numbers.
$200k back then is roughly worth 1.5 million today......not that that would be any more of a motivation. 😏
