A Mississippi teacher is “no longer employed” after serving dog treats that she apparently thought was beef jerky to students, leading to at least one child getting sent to the hospital.
The teacher gave eight high school students at least one bite of the canine treats during a class birthday party on Wednesday, Calhoun County School District superintendent Dr. Lisa Langford told WTVA.

Kinda sorta off topic ... as a child in the 1960s I remember sampling some of our dog food/treats ... the commercials were so appealing, specifically Gaines Burgers and Milk Bone dog biscuits.
I also remember Ken'L Rations and Purina Chuckwagon ... no, I did not eat the canned stuff.

I think any kid in a household with a dog has sampled a piece or two of kibble. I know I did.

I can’t believe that they actually found a teacher they considered too dumb to keep their job, or too spiteful?

I have eaten a few Milk Bones back in the day. Pretty sure every kid in America who grew up with a dog at home knows exactly what a Milk Bone dog treat tastes like.

leading to at least one child getting sent to the hospital. I'd imagine a dog treat wouldn't taste great but I'm struggling to see how eating one could lead to a kid getting hospitalized.
Admittedly, I did not read the article.

If a dog treat is going to cause you to be hospitalized, then you shouldn't feed it to your dog either.
