I think I researched that once. To be a SCOTUS a person doesn’t have to be an attorney. (Go figure!) I think that is a requirement for AG, though. It’s been a long time, so I may not be remembering correctly.
Funniest thing is one does not have to be a member of house of Representatives to be elected speaker of the house!
