We don’t commute by buggies and steam driven locomotives anymore, and communication is more instantaneous than pony express and the telegraph.
There is no need to put off the inauguration of a new President until the 20th of January in the next calendar year.
A new President should be able to be installed no later than the 1st of December following an election on the First Tuesday of November.

That would eliminate a whole lot of the foolishness that we are witnessing and are going to witness for the next 6 or 7 weeks.

The word needs to go out in no uncertain terms that people will be held responsible for their actions before the new administration arrives.
