The majority of DOJ lawyers and senior FBI are threatening to quit on 20 Jan 2025. Let them, and do not refill any position simply restructure around the positions. Executive Order stating federal intelligence and law enforcement personnel who retire or resign cannot return to the agency or like agency they left as a contractor or consultant for two years after to they depart. Anyone who resigns/retires, immediately loses access and has there Security Clearance downgraded to Secret. That will shutoff most private sector contract positions because they are hired for their access to TS SCI materials and facilities. Trump can eliminate access and reduces clearances via Executive Order he does not need Congress.
DOJ Political appointees will resign, restructure around those positions and do not refill them. Evaluate every SES position with instructions to reduce the number of SES by 10% annually over 4 years.
Cut the number Flag Officers (Generals) by 10% annually for the next four years. Restructure billets as Captain/Colonel billets with smaller staffs. In wartime, with a flick of a pen, Colonels can become Generals if more Flag Officers are needed. If after two years in rank, Colonels, Generals or Admirals are not selected for the now limited number of billets, they are retired. They can be brought out of retirement if needed. This will make room for junior officers to grow. Cut the next DOD FY budget by whatever amount the DOD fails to account for annually. Watch how fast their accounting improves.
Eliminate the Dept of Education starve it of funds over two years sun-setting or cut it down dramatically limiting it to distribution of Federal funds to States and accounting for how states utilized Federal funds. Funds can only be used for Reading, Writing, Math and STEM programs. Some funds for High School Vocational training programs. Cut the IRS budget and create a national VAT, End any federal sales taxes. Cut federal payroll taxes to an across the board 10 or 15% rate. States that want a share of the VAT have to also cut State payroll taxes to a flat 5% rate and reduce sales tax to 2%. Now this is chaos!
