Instead of corn syrup in your pecan pie use maple syrup.

You can send what ever you think this tip is worth to the FReepathon.

One of each would be fine.

Don’t know where I’d put them after turkey, stuffing, whipped potatoes w/gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, orange carrot jello, dinner rolls, candied sweet potatoes and the rest. And seconds on turkey, taters/gravy, stuffing sweet potatoes.

But there are three almost four weeks until Christmas dinner.

There’s a Korean bakery chain “Paris Baguette” that has locations in several states and countries (including France) and the sweet potato they use in some of their pastries is so good! It’s bright yellow though and from Korea I believe. Not orange like the yams here.

In memory of my sweet mom who passed in 2017.

A long time lurker who went by the name thistle. she loved reading freepers and was 100% MAGA imported from Scotland when she was a 'wee lass'.

New England winter favorites

new england baked apples
apple should be a big apple
core the apple
remove 1 inch strip of peel around the middle
fill center with:
1-2 tbsp of brown sugar
1/4 tsp of butter
dash of cinnamon
heat oven to 350F
place on baking dish or single apple ceramic bowl
pour enough water to cover bottom of dish
bake uncovered 45-60 minutes
let cool... serve w/ vanilla ice cream

swedish apple pie
apple pie dish
peel and slice apples
place into dish, not heaping, level with top of dish
sprinkle a tsp of sugar and a tsp of cinnamon over apples
the mix:
3/4 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 egg
(add chopped walnuts if desired)
mix together until smooth
pour over apples
bake at 350F for 45 minutes.
let cool. serve with vanilla ice cream

classic new england apple pie
pie crust mix (we use jiffy pie crust mix) or homemade. trick is to roll it out as thin as possible
makes 10-12" pie
preparing the pie plate: butter & flour bottom of pie plate
spread bottom crust evenly along the plate
apples: tart apples are best (macintosh). peel and slice
put apples in dish, pile them high.. heaping
sprinkle with cinnamon
1/4 stick of butter (roughly), cut into slices.. half the slices. place around top of apples
1/2 - 1 cup of sugar depending on tartness of the apple (try 1/2 cup first to check sweetness)
prepare top crust:
roll thin, big enough to cover entire pie
flute two crusts together
remove excess around edge, pressing edges together
brush on milk and sprinkle with sugar
place small ring of tinfoil around pie edge to avoid burning
oven: preheat to 425F, bake at 425F for 10 minutes, reduce to 350F for 40-45 minutes
apples bubbling means it's done. watch to insure it doesn't burn
words of wisdom from mom: 'good luck. my first pie... my kitchen was covered in flour'

The baked apples are the easiest to make. The swedish would be second.

The classic apple pie would be the toughest due to the thin crust but it's by far the best.

and only use macs.
