Instead of corn syrup in your pecan pie use maple syrup.

You can send what ever you think this tip is worth to the FReepathon.

Hummingbird cake is so very good. For some reason we generally make it in the summer but I suppose it would do nicely for Thanksgiving.

One of each would be fine.

Don’t know where I’d put them after turkey, stuffing, whipped potatoes w/gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, orange carrot jello, dinner rolls, candied sweet potatoes and the rest. And seconds on turkey, taters/gravy, stuffing sweet potatoes.

But there are three almost four weeks until Christmas dinner.

There’s a Korean bakery chain “Paris Baguette” that has locations in several states and countries (including France) and the sweet potato they use in some of their pastries is so good! It’s bright yellow though and from Korea I believe. Not orange like the yams here.

“No need to look past choices One and two! Maple syrup in Pecan Pie!! Yankee sacrilege!!!”

Mama used to put bacon in her pecan pie that was savory goodness. She also made caramel popcorn with bourbon and bacon bits and peanuts fried in peanut oil... sweet Virginia! The caramel was home made by pressure cooking unopened cans of sweetened evaporated canned milk. And her homebrew eggnog with bourbon was phenomenal! And yes there was a children’s batch... but nobody was watchin’

We got very view presents... socks, underwear etcetera..., oranges and unshelled nuts but... we ate like kings.
