The buffet’s are NOT worth it now.
I got married in Vegas in 2001, went back a couple times for work (without the wife), but really have no plans to go back.
Yep, that’s the one...I don’t recall how much it was, I was thinking around $20ish...but if it was $35, my room (Silverton) was $10 less than that. I remember being mad at myself for not seeing what was on the menu before paying. I figured with all the hype it was a smorgasbord of variety. It was...but that day, all seafood.
My favorite place to stay was the Golden Nugget. Around 1996 we stayed at the (new then) MGM Grand. The Luxor was close by. I disliked the glitz of the MGM and Luxor; preferred the “homey” places downtown.
Currently living in Vegas. Locals don’t go near the strip. Too many other options...that have free parking. lol Red Rock, Durango Station, Silverton, South Point, and a few others. Used to go to The Orleans because I won there quite a bit but it has turned into a dump. And if you just want to gamble and drink you can do so almost anywhere.
We lived in Henderson over by Green Valley Ranch, so we’d go there from time to time, and back then the “Fiesta” was pretty good and cheap. I used to work on Industrial (Dean Martin now), and we’d go to lunch at the Orleans. And I agree, it’s now a dump.
Yeah we go to Green Valley once in a while.
