This is a fascinating phenomenon. Liberals are so unhinged they are cutting long time friends and family out of their life because they voted for Trump. Not just the vehement, Trump flag waving, MAGA hat wearing supporters. Literally ANYONE who they found out voted for Trump.
Is this just a one way pathology? Has anyone here cut someone out of their life because they voted for Hillary, Biden or Harris? I can't even imagine doing this to a family member or especially one of my kids.
Sad is fine, it was the very ugly dehumanizing angry personal attacks on us Trumpers that caused their Facebutt demise in my case.
Never, nor would I ever over politics or religon, period. No exemptions, exceptions, or exclusions.
No I would not cut someone out because of who they vote for.
This predates the election. My middle daughter, a UC at Boulder physics gradate hasn’t spoken to me or her mom for over 15 years.
My youngest who is gay (whoops I mean bi. These people get ticked if you mess that up..)we text sentence or two about once a year. She still sees my wife, however.
My oldest daughter, might have voted for Trump I don’t know but is liberal on social issues. Since she has 6 kids, we can’t abide with her help with our grandkids questioning their genders and plus she identifies as a “Bad As$ Bit*h” on social media so you can imagine the issues.
After you go though the stages of grief, life is actually much easier and much more peaceful.
No, but I have had so many cut me out of THEIR lives when they found I supported Donald Trump.
I am talking several 30-40 year friendships.
No. But two friends of mine, 30+ year friendships, ended it in 2016 when I supported Trump. I told them they were ending it, not me, and if they ever needed anything, just ask. Have not heard a peep in 8 years.
I don’t have any Liberal friends.
I have not cut anyone out but probably tend to avoid some as I know they are die hards. Have had a few from high school disown me and one nasty aunt in the family who has been horrible to me on social media. We are no longer talking and it’s terrible … just a loss to the family as she is married to my husbands only uncle. They’re just crazy. My daughter’s in laws are major Massachusetts libs …. I know they’re annoyed, but they and we also just try not to discuss it ever and try to focus instead on our shared grandkids. We do like them otherwise and do enjoy seeing them. My daughter does not like Trump and has let me know it but we also avoid discussing politics. We are too close to shut down our relationships at least I hope and I hope it continues. Life is too short. When Biden won no one gloated and we kept our mouths shut. I do hope they do the same as we will be seeing them in December. Our two younger sons are in agreement with us. I would never in a million years cut anyone off. My husband served 26 years in the Army so Americans can be free.
Yes. They started it; I finished it.
They weren’t expecting to receive a calm and well-wishing “it’s over” email from me after they slimed me casually so many times. One had not stopped spamming me with email snarks and denunciations before I pulled the plug. Another destroyed a gift I had given in friendship many years before after learning in a quiet, non-confrontational way whom I would be voting for, and sneered in telling me about it. And after receiving my email, called my adult child trying to plead their case.
Leftists do not respect freedom. They don’t even respect respect.
I think about them sometimes, both relationships having lasted over 50 years before my decision to terminate. But I feel nothing.
That is unfortunate. Assuming it was because of the election, just think of all the politicians over the years who were controversial or a big deal in their time who we barely remember anymore. Even people like Bill and Hillary Clinton people don’t think of much. Family and friends (normal people, not raving nuts of course) are more important than politicians who are here today and gone tomorrow.

Crying and stating she was upset Harris lost. I told her life goes on and her retirement account growing with Trump in office should make her happy.
There is another method. I call it the “Yeah but...” method. It’s where you agree with them but slide in a truth they are trying hard to avoid.
Liberal: “We need to convert all energy sources to Green”
Me: “I agree and I, like you, are willing to pay more for it but the poor in places like Appalachia are struggling to pay their electric bills”.

For our family, it wasn’t politics, it was the love of money. One by one, as the grand parents, then the parents passed away, they all got lawyers to steal what they could from others from each death. With each death, the entitlement greed waxed more and more dark. It was a pitiful sight to watch. Now everyone hates everyone, they’re all miserable and even though the legal matters are passed, the damage is complete. Humility and forgiveness are as absent as fresh water in the desert. None will seek either, but only slouch into, gossip, malicious slander and hate for the others.
Watching it unfold was like watching a circus of evil, un-funny, petulant clowns.
Money is not the root of evil.
No, the LOVE of money is the root.
Money can certainly destroy families.
And friendships and marriages.
