Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tore into Sen. Bernie Sanders who had derided the Democratic Party and its alleged issues with the working class that ultimately failed to support Vice President Kamala Harris in her bid for the White House.
In a scathing letter to his former party a day after the election, Sanders blasted the Dems for “abandoning” the working class and seemingly acting surprised they didn’t show up at the polling booths.
“It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them,” the Democratic socialist, 83, said in a fiery statement on X.
“First, it was the white working class, and now it is Latino and Black workers as well. While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right,” the Democratic Socialist said.
Pelosi didn’t take kindly to the Vermont independent senator’s remarks, rebutting Sander’s claim and doubling down that the Democratic Party didn’t abandon the working class.
“I have a great deal of respect for him, for what he stands for, but I don’t respect him saying that the Democratic Party has abandoned the working-class families. That’s where we are,” the 84-year-old California Rep. told the New York Times podcast “The Interview.”
Pelosi was pressured to reveal what went wrong in Harris’ campaign, but could not admit it was the vice president’s fault for losing the presidential election to Donald Trump.
“Well, I just completely disagree. And, in fact, Kamala Harris ran ahead of Bernie Sanders in Vermont,” Pelosi told the podcast.

‘I don’t respect him saying that’
Gee, and he hasn’t committed suicide yet? How could anyone continue after getting disrespected by Queen Nazi Pelosi like. that?
Yes. But as Pelosi mentioned, Harris beat out Sanders for the position of Dogcatcher in Vermont by a vote of 2-1. Sanders name was a write-in on one ballot.
When you are a major criminal, you can't just retire.
Because we're not having any more paper-tearing, foot-stamping, ice-crunching teeth-licking (from her alcoholism) on parade. There's a new sheriff in town and Nanzi's Bordello is CLOSED.
There's only one thing that matters -- do Nanzi and her queerzone hubbie want the DePape bronze statue in front of the manse, or at the corner to greet everyone?

Yes it’s to deflect the fact that the party always has sucked.
Media doing it’s part to make it look real.
All of them abandoned workers. And men. They even bragged about it.
That said, Nancy needs to open up the discussions to everyone in the Democrat party and NOT just those who blame the people who left for being too stupid to understand how wonderful democrat elites really are.
It's been so insulting listening to liberal 'elites' - from Axios on down.. One condescending insult after another. If we could keep them talking like that we could gain the rest of our people - -( working and middle class voters) - - for the next 20 elections. That would leave the democrat party with elites, sexual weirdos, and angry black women. LOL. It's what they deserve and they won't be able to elect a dog catcher.
Bernie Sanders fires back at Pelosi as he reveals why voters backed Trump in rebuke to Dem matriarch
Senator Bernie Sanders has clapped back at former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi after she said she didn’t ‘respect’ his criticism of the Democratic Party for ignoring the working class.
The independent from Vermont appeared on CNN’s State of the Union and NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday to double down on why he believes Kamala Harris lost to Donald Trump.
Sanders, 83, sounded off his usual laundry list of policies that he thinks Harris either didn’t emphasize or support at all.
These stances include raising the minimum wage, raising taxes on the ultra-wealthy, moving to a universal health care system and expanding social security.
During the NBC interview, Meet the Press host Kristen Welker played a clip of Pelosi telling The New York Times’ ‘The Interview Podcast’ on Saturday, ‘I don’t respect [Sanders] saying that the Democratic Party has abandoned the working class families. That’s where we are.’
‘Nancy is a friend of mine,’ Sanders responded on the air.
‘But here is the reality: in the Senate in the last two years, we have not even brought forth legislation to raise the minimum wage to a living wage despite the fact that some 20 million people in this country are working for less than $15 an hour.’
Sanders’ criticism was also called into question on State of the Union, where host Dana Bash pointed out: ‘But what the voters supported is a man who would never do any of what you just said. I mean, not even close.’
‘But what that man named Donald Trump did do is he said, “I feel your pain. I know that you’re hurting, and I have an explanation,”’ argued the two-time presidential candidate, once in 2016 and again in 2020.
Yup — and I would like to offer the combatants chain saws and bush axes.
