Too convenient. Big difference between escaped and let out to spread the latest deadly disease.
Monkeys are like many other species - they generally have a dominance hierarchy. Monkeys will copy and ‘follow the leader’. Some labs have animals living in large groups, and if one figures out an escape, the others will follow. There’s no indication of how these animals were kept or how they escaped, or what was going on when they escaped.
(And there is no indication that the animals were used to develop the ‘latest deadly disease’.Non human primates are used for all kinds of research.)
