The 2024 presidential election was decided on Tuesday night, as former President Donald Trump won re-election to begin his second term in office.
Trump won after years of unsubstantiated claims that the 2020 election was unfairly stolen from him in a variety of different ways. He claimed that outsiders from other countries meddled in the election, and that some states and cities were illegally counting votes.
These claims were debunked or otherwise proven to be false, but one popular sports radio host is calling out the president-elect for his sudden change of heart when it comes to free and fair elections.
“There is part of this country, and I think a very big part of the male population that votes is not yet ready to have the face of this nation be a female. And it’s pretty obvious, he lost to Biden,” said longtime sports radio host Mike Francesa during his podcast on Wednesday.
“And, if you noticed last night, all of a sudden, as soon as he took the lead, there were no accusations about any [fraud]. It’s amazing how secure the election became as soon as the numbers went the right way."
Francesa continued to discuss the president-elect's refusal to acknowledge that there could have been meddling in this year's election, despite his (once again, unsubstantiated) claims of fraud before Election Day.
“I mean, there’s no talk about it at all today. There was talk of it earlier last night, and then all of a sudden, as soon as the numbers started to break for him, ‘Hey, everything’s secure!’ ‘Everything’s great!’ ‘Oh, wow, what a job they did!’ ‘Wow, this is amazing how good this is!’ ‘I mean, what a system!," Francesa said.
"We all know what that was about, okay? He got beat squarely and soundly by the man he ran against. And he beat the two females he ran against. That’s what history’s gonna show.”
Trump will be sworn in as the President once again early next year, and there's unlikely to be any talk of a stolen election from him or his camp in the weeks leading up to the inauguration.
