    I believe (talking off the cuff, could be mistaken in some particulars) that our knowledge that an Ozone Layer exists is older than our knowledge of a hole in it over Antarctica. It would have been first measured in more civilized locations.

    When CFC got banned, the big three automakers bought up the last of the supply in order to service cars still on the road (those systems tend to leak the most and/or experience damage).

    Ozone is created by lightning strikes, not many thunderstorms in Antarctica. More of the science please.
